Located on Wakelands Road in Sapphire Beach, Coffs Garden World has been purpose-built as the premier landscape and lifestyle destination on the Coffs Coast.

Delivered by Chris New and the New Family, this large-scale development brings together retail, hospitality, and trade-focused spaces into one cohesive environment. The facility includes expansive nursery areas, a fully operational café and commercial kitchen, administration offices, a dedicated power tool centre, storage facilities, and public amenities — all designed to service both homeowners and industry professionals alike.

The result is a vibrant, multi-functional space that blends practicality, presentation, and customer experience — setting a new benchmark within the region.

Our Role – Coffs Coast Painting Co.

Coffs Coast Painting Co. was engaged to deliver the complete painting and coating package across all areas of the development.

This project required a versatile approach, with works spanning:

large open retail and nursery environments
hospitality and kitchen spaces
administrative offices
specialised retail areas such as the power tool centre

Our focus was to deliver a consistent, high-quality finish across a diverse range of environments, ensuring each space met both functional and aesthetic requirements.

Exterior – A Modern Take on the Australian Landscape

The exterior palette draws inspiration from the natural tones of the Australian landscape, combining:

This combination delivers a modern interpretation of outback colour palettes, grounding the development within its outdoor and landscape-driven identity.

These tones not only create a strong visual presence but also provide the perfect canvas for the surrounding greenery, plants, and landscaping products — allowing them to stand out while maintaining a cohesive overall design.

Design Intent
A modern, landscape-inspired palette that complements outdoor retail and natural elements

Interior – Clean, Functional & Designed to Showcase

Internally, the approach was intentionally clean and minimal, allowing the products, materials, and fit-out elements to take centre stage.

All ceilings, walls, doors, and trims were finished in straight white, creating:

a bright, open environment
a neutral backdrop for retail displays
a consistent and professional finish across all areas

This approach enhances the presentation of:

prefinished Colourbond materials
furniture and fixtures
tiles and retail stock

The result is a space that feels organised, spacious, and highly functional for both staff and customers.

Specialised Finishes – Power Tool Centre

A key feature within the development is the dedicated power tool centre, where we introduced custom colour integration to align with the STIHL display systems.

Existing Colourbond metal elements were colour matched and finished in:

light grey
charcoal tones

This created a visually cohesive retail environment, allowing the display to stand out while maintaining a strong connection to the overall design.

Scale, Coordination & Delivery

This project required careful coordination across multiple stages of construction and a wide range of working environments.
