Coastal Repaint & Refinement

Recently completed, this full repaint of the Red Rock Beach House represents a considered transformation — enhancing both the visual presence of the home and its long-term performance within a demanding coastal environment.

Set within the relaxed, natural surrounds of Red Rock, this residence called for a finish that respected its location while elevating its overall presentation. The brief was clear: deliver a result that balances durability, softness, and understated coastal luxury — without compromising on longevity.

Design Intent & Approach

Coastal properties require more than just aesthetic consideration — they demand systems that are specifically suited to salt exposure, humidity, UV, and changing conditions.

Our approach focused on:

• selecting premium coating systems designed for coastal durability

• refining the colour palette to enhance the home’s natural setting

• delivering a finish that feels effortless, yet highly resolved in its detail

Every stage of the project, from preparation through to final application, was carried out with precision to ensure a consistent, high-end result across all surfaces.

Exterior – Depth, Contrast & Coastal Performance

The exterior was finished in Brimstone Smoke (inspired by the Colorbond® range), a tone chosen for its ability to introduce depth and contrast while remaining grounded within the coastal landscape.

This colour provides a modern, architectural edge without overpowering the home’s natural surroundings. When paired with the coastal light, it delivers subtle tonal variation throughout the day — adding interest while maintaining a calm, cohesive appearance.

Beyond aesthetics, the system applied was selected to ensure:

• long-term resistance to coastal conditions

• colour stability under high UV exposure

• durability against wear, salt, and weather

Interior – Light, Balance & Cohesion

Internally, the goal was to create a space that feels light, calm, and refined.

Walls were finished in Dulux Snowy Mountains Half, a soft neutral that works seamlessly with natural light, enhancing the sense of openness throughout the home.

This was paired with Dulux Builders White across ceilings, trims, and doors, delivering a crisp, unified finish that sharpens architectural lines while maintaining a clean, understated look.

The result is an interior that feels fresh and inviting, with a level of consistency and balance that supports both everyday living and the home’s overall design intent.

Attention to Detail

As with all of our projects, the final result is defined by the level of preparation and execution behind it.

Our team ensured:

• thorough preparation of all surfaces prior to coating

• consistent film build and application across all areas

• clean, sharp transitions between materials and colours

• a high-end finish that aligns with the quality of the home

This level of detail is what allows the project to present as cohesive, refined, and complete.

Landscaping Integration

The finished result is further elevated by the surrounding landscaping, completed by Great Gardens.

The integration of natural elements softens the architectural lines of the home and provides a strong visual frame — enhancing both the street presence and the overall sense of arrival.

The Red Rock Beach House now presents as a refined coastal residence, where material selection, colour, and finish work together to create a cohesive and enduring result.

It is a project that demonstrates how thoughtful repainting — when executed with the right systems, preparation, and attention to detail — can completely elevate a home without the need for structural change.
